The book is currently on sale for $2.99 if you pre-order by March 23. That's when the price goes up to the regular sale price of $3.99. The book comes out APRIL 5. I can’t do a sale price on print—we’re already selling it as low as we can, though you'll be able to order it in advance shortly. Amazon occasionally runs specials on our print books, but I've never gotten any warning in the past. Print and digital versions will both release on April 5. If you see it somewhere for sale that I’ve missed, please let me know! I'll add the links for print retailers once I have them.
I love BookBub--if you don't subscribe, you’re missing some great deals—I get free books on it all the time, and the notices come out daily, though the books don’t stay free or low priced for long, so you need to jump when they’re offered. Plus, you can follow an author and you'll get notices whenever they've got books releasing or special purchase deals coming up. I think Dark Refuge is a one day sale only. (My editor handles all this. I just write and take orders and stay out of the way…)
Another date to remember: March 30, Kensington will be putting both DARK WOLF (the first in the Spirit Wild series) and DARK MOON on sale for $3.99 in Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland. That sale lasts until April 12.
April 5 isn’t all that far away, but we wanted to release the ebook and print book at the same time. Plus, it’s still getting some final tweaks before it will be ready. I'm doing final edits this weekend. I think the cover is gorgeous, similar to the ones SMP did for the Feral Passions stories, but we liked the concept and are planning to continue using this style with the Spirit Wild series. I'm going to be putting all my energy into writing and publishing through my agent's "assisted self publishing" company, where her people handle editing, formatting, cover art and uploading. All I need to do is write, which is a form of Nirvana for an author! I've had close to 70 books published since I first started with Hard Shell Word Factory in 1998. It's time for a bit of a break!
Also, I’m working on Wolf Tales 10, 11, and 12, so we can bring them out in the next few months. As with the Spirit Wild books, we’re keeping prices down. I’m a book addict, and I hate it when I can’t buy all the books I want, so pricing is a big deal to me. I hope you’ll enjoy Dark Terror, and please, when you read it, if you don’t mind leaving a review, I would really appreciate it. I’m really uncomfortable asking, but in this digital age, online reviews are really important, and I want the stories to do well.
Take care, and be well! It’s actually turning into spring here, and I love the flowers popping up all over the yard. Hard to stay inside and work, but right now I need to get back to my edits.
All the best to you, and don't forget to take time to read. There's no better therapy for what ails ya, and if all is well in your world, I imagine a good book can make things even better.
Be well, and take care. I'll do a contest next month when I'm not so pushed for time.
