There's a lot going on so I need to catch you up on at least some of it. Next week, author buddy Sharon Hamilton is hosting a five day birthday bash on Facebook. Numerous authors will be participating (me, among them) with contests and prizes for readers--each day features a different genre or theme with authors taking 30 minutes slots.
Monday (Military Themed)
Tuesday (Paranormal Themed)
Thursday (Audio)
Friday (Romantic Suspense)
Since I've got new books in both Paranormal and Romantic Suspense, I'll be on deck Tuesday for the Paranormal event from 5:30-6:00 PM EASTERN time (so for those of you on the left coast, that means I'll be chatting from 2:30 to 3:00) and on Friday for Romantic Suspense from 5:00-5:30 EASTERN and 2:00-2:30 my time. Those of you in the rest of the world just have to figure this out on your own! I'll have books to give away, including an ARC for AWAKENED, and can answer any questions you ask that won't get me into trouble.
I've also got an unexpected surprise--ARCs of AWAKENED! This one comes out June 28, and it's the final book in my INTIMATE RELATIONS series. The one thing I need to ask, though, is if you enter I really hope you're someone willing to do a review or ranking on Goodreads or one of the other sites. (Bloggers especially welcome.) I give away a lot of books and rarely see reviews from the winners. Unfortunately, we really need those reviews and I hate having to ask readers for them, but that's why our publishers give us ARCs. And if you do post a review, please let me know. Google Alerts doesn't find all of them!
I've managed to do a little bit of reading for pleasure, and had a chance to read JR Ward's latest while we were in Yosemite. THE BEAST was wonderful! I am so hooked on her BDB series!! Still, between the trip where I read THE BEAST, and the two sets of edits I've been working on, my TBR stack is getting a bit overbalanced!
I just got Jayne Ann Krentz's newest, TILL DEATH DO US PART, and I hope to start it today. I love Jayne's books and still manage to find the time to read them when I've got other things I should be doing. Go figure...
I've been rereading some of my older Wolf Tales, trying to refresh the facts of the Chanku history. There's so much there, and it's so easy to forget a lot of the details, especially since I'm writing other books. I kept a lot of notes, but I need to read the words in the characters' voices to put myself back in touch with the characters and the world. I'm reminded with each book I read how much I miss writing about my Chanku!
Once I get started in the actual writing, it should go fairly quickly, but until I'm comfortable that I've got the sense of the pack inside me where it needs to be, I'm going to keep reading and thinking about the characters. It's also why I've tried not to spend as much time online--I really need to immerse myself in that world.
As far as my releases coming up--May 3 is the release of the novella TANGLED, which first appeared in the Hot Alphas anthology last year. It's the prequel to my INTIMATE RELATIONS series and introduces Marcus Reed, the hero in AWAKENED, which comes out on June 28. If you haven't read this series, I hope you'll give it a try--TANGLED is a good place to begin.
CLAIMED BY THE MATE, VOL 2 with my newest Feral Passions story, WILD PASSIONS, releases June 7 in an ebook duet with AC Arthur. This story will release in print next September, in the WILD anthology with AC and Eve Langlais.
I'm going to cut this short as I need to get back to edits on DANGEROUS PASSIONS. I don't have an excerpt up for that one yet, but hopefully I'll have one ready soon. I have to wait until we've gone through the edits first! Eileen, my SMP editor, always finds things that need fixin', and she's very good at it. The finding part, that is. I'm doing the fixin'!
Don't forget to enter for a chance to win an advanced reader copy of AWAKENED. You're gonna love Marc's story! I had such a great time writing it, but it was hard to let this group of friends go. I'm going to miss them. The entry form is to the right of this post, or if you're on a mobile device, it might be at the bottom, AFTER the comments form. DO NOT enter your info in the comments section or I will have to delete it for your own safety. It's not a good idea to post personal info like your address in a public forum.
And please, make sure your address is complete and correct and that you give me the right zip code. For whatever reason, a lot of you are giving incorrect zips, which I don't always find out until I get to the PO.
Enough orders--be well, stay safe, and for those of you in the path of storms, I really hope everything is okay. It's pouring here today, but we need it badly so it's all good.
Take care, and don't forget to give yourself time to read a good book.
Kate
PS: I'm seeing duplicate comments showing up and I understand a lot of you have seen error messages, which is why you repost. For whatever reason, they appear to be posting just fine. I'll keep an eye on things and remove duplicates when I see them.
