I was beginning to wonder if I'd have time to get a newsletter done this month--I finished edits on FERAL PASSIONS, the first in my sexy werewolf ménage stories, and went straight to work on the edits for REDEMPTION, the second book in my romantic suspense series. Almost done with that set, and then I need to write the final story in the RS series. We're still tossing around a title for that one, but I think once I have a better idea what it's going to be about, a title will come to me. I hope...
As soon as that one is done, I am finally going to get to write the next Spirit Wild book. Please don't give up on me. I miss my Chanku something fierce, and can't wait to get back into their world!
Oh, guess I should explain the photo at the top--that's a diamondback rattlesnake, and the photo is courtesy of my older brother Dave, who lives up in Oregon. He's "almost" retired and his wife is retired, and they are constantly taking wonderful trips and sending me pictures, which I really love but which also make me insanely jealous, because I haven't gone anywhere in forever! But I think that, of all the critter shots he's sent me over the years, this is my favorite. There's something so incongruous about a deadly python resting amid the wildflowers. Anyway, just wanted to share, and no, it has nothing to do with anything I'm writing.
I did get the cover for FERAL PASSIONS--the book comes out in September in a duet--a dual release with author AC Arthur titled CLAIMED BY THE MATE. It releases first as an ebook, and then will come out in print in an anthology with an added story by author Eve Langlais.

| Heroes and Heartbreakers just did a cover reveal a couple of days ago--I really like this one, and I'm looking forward to its release. I'll get an excerpt up as soon as I get a release from my editor. HOT ALPHAS, the anthology with Lora Leigh, Shiloh Walker, Laurelin McGee, and me, will be out on May 19. where my imaginary winery is set, and I really hope you'll like the story. Funny thing happened with that one--when I start a book, I go into Google images and find a photo of a man, generally a celebrity I don't know because I don't watch TV or see many movies, but it's an image close to the character I've pictured as my hero for the story. I do the same for the heroine, and those photos help me keep the continuity of my character throughout....well, that and a detailed biography I make of each person. Anyway, I had the perfect Nate Dunagan and it wasn't until the story was finished that I discovered Nate was Bradley Cooper.

up. You can read a first chapter on the HOT ALPHAS page. The rest of the series is set either in San Francisco or at the vineyard, and it was such fun doing the research for this one. I actually spent time poking around a wine cave like the one in my story, though the only thing both of them have in common is that they're caves. The one for Bella Winery is MUCH nicer than the old cave Tangled Vines aka Intimate Vineyards has!
Other upcoming releases now on the schedule are INTIMATE in mass market paperback on December 1, 2015, and the second book, REDEMPTION, on December 29, 2015--two books in December, and three if you count the mass market release of HOT ALPHAS, which comes out in trade paperback (the bigger size books) the same day as INTIMATE releases. What's cool is that if you haven't had a chance to read TANGLED, it will be on the shelves, hopefully next to INTIMATE, at the same time.
I have read hardly anything this past month other than books I was judging for a contest and can't discuss (though they were really good! I can tell you later...) but did get a chance to read Patricia Briggs NIGHT BROKEN. I love the Mercy Thompson series, and never would have read them if not for the persistent recommendations of so many of you. Thank you! Also read the new Rock Kiss book from Nalini Singh--ROCK HARD. I love this series!

| I'm planning to dig into Amanda Quick aka Jayne Ann Krentz's GARDEN OF LIES first--her books are consistently wonderful, and always get me back on track. Next will be JR Ward's THE SHADOWS, because it's been sitting here for what feels like forever, and I miss the boys in the BDB! I want to read all four of the others as well, but they couldn't be more different from one another, so I imagine a lot will depend on what mood I'm in. Every single one sounds terrific! |  |
Not much else new going on. My life has revolved around writing and trying to stick with my exercise. I've been running 1-4 miles a day, though cut back this week because of the bursitis in my hip. Getting old is definitely not for sissies! I bought some new running shoes that seem to be taking the strain off my joints--I think the other pair had lost all its cushioning, but I've dropped ten pounds and am pretty much just trying to maintain where I am. It's SO easy to gain it back, and so darned hard to lose it!

There really are some terrific tips in here, and I think you'll enjoy it. It's fun just to read, as well, and you'll recognize a lot of the names.
