TANGLED, my Intimate Relations novella that debuted in the HOT ALPHAS anthology last May will release as a single title ebook novella this May 3. The pre-order price is $1.99 and if you haven't read it but have read INTIMATE and/or REDEMPTION, you'll love reading about Nate and Cassie, and meeting Marcus Reed for the first time.
I've got two releases in June--the first, Volume 2 of the CLAIMED BY THE MATE duets with AC Arthur, comes out on June 7 with the second of my Feral Passions romances, WILD PASSIONS. This one also takes place at the ritzy resort run by lonely werewolves, only this group of women brings a bit more excitement than the guys usually have to deal with. Click on the cover for a link to an excerpt. The boys are back!
On June 28, the final book in my Intimate Relations series, AWAKENED, comes out. I just finished page proofs on Friday and sent the corrections to my editor, but rereading the book reminded me just how much I loved writing Marc Reed's story. He's a major success now, but his life was a nightmare growing up, and those nightmares have followed him into the present--and they're threatening the woman he loves. (And yes, it's no secret--Mandy's the one he can't stay away from.)
There's nothing else over the summer until WILD releases. That's the print version of WILD PASSIONS, another big book like GROWL with three full-length shape shifter novels, and personally, I think the cover is spectacular!
This week I'm going to take some time to reread the first four books in my Spirit Wild series to get back in the mindset to write more Chanku stories. It's been too blasted long since I had a chance to write any, and I miss working in that world something fierce. Not to mention the fact that Anton has been a pain in the ass. I swear the man haunts me when I'm not focusing on his pack, but when he gets this insistent, I know it's time to get back to what I love best. I'm not sure where the next one is going, but I'll know more once I've read the first four books.
I'm just getting over the flu, which, in spite of my flu shot absolutely flattened me. However, as crappy as I've felt, I have to wonder how much worse it might have been without the shot. It's not fun and I still sound like a kid with croup, but if you've wondered why it takes me forever to answer emails, that's part of it. The rest is that I've been finishing up the final Feral Passions story, DANGEROUS PASSIONS, and working on page proofs for AWAKENED. I also had books to judge for a writing contest and a tight deadline to get them read and turned in. Luckily, they were mostly wonderful!
I've done some pleasure reading, too--when I was really sick, I figure I had the perfect excuse! Just finished Virginia Kantra's CAROLINA DREAMING. Wonderful book--in fact, the entire series has been fantastic.I may have to go back and reread the whole set. I also finally had a chance to read Elizabeth Lowell's wonderful romantic suspense, PERFECT TOUCH. What's really sad is that I've had it since it released in hardcover and finally had a chance to read it, and it's already out in paperback for a fraction of the cost. Oh well...it was worth every penny and I'm such a huge fan of Elizabeth's that I know I'll be reading this one over and over.
Books to watch for--JR Ward's next Black Dagger Brotherhood book, THE BEAST, comes out April 5, and Amanda Quick aka Jayne Ann Krentz's newest, 'TILL DEATH DO US PART comes out April 19. I've got both of them preordered, and the prices have really come down--it definitely pays to order early, at least through Amazon, because you'll be charged the lowest price during the sales period prior to release. I'm not sure how it works with other online retailers, but If you buy as many books as I do, it's going to make a difference.
I was asked to read a galley of Robyn Carr's newest book, WHAT WE FIND. This one is due for release on April 5, and it's a really special story. I love the protagonists--they've both got so many issues that are just so real you can't help but root for the two of them. It's on my "gonna reread it asap" shelf, too... (It's a very full shelf)
Just remembered one more to recommend before I get to the next job on my "to do," list --JAK's SECRET SISTERS. I pulled this one out while I was feeling really crappy and reread it...again. Even though it's romantic suspense and I "know who done it," I love the story and the way Jayne builds her suspense--and her characters. It's a skill set that's definitely fantastic.
Anyway, I need to get my office in order so I can go into my next project without tripping over piles of stuff. I still have things from the book signing last month at Coppola Winery to put away! We had a wonderful time, the turnout was fantastic, and my husband managed to get a bunch of photos. Click on the picture below to see the whole album.
We're hoping for an even bigger turnout of authors and readers, which will mean more wine and desserts. It's a rough way to spend an afternoon, and it's all due to Sharon Hamilton's efforts to make this such a huge success. If there's a chance you can attend, I'd suggest signing up for Sharon's newsletter so you don't miss anything!
On that note, it's time to walk away from my computer. I'm going to be giving away a few more print copies of GROWL this time. Please fill in the entry form and double check your zip code and address. Way too many of you are sending in partial addresses, and I don't have time to hunt for the right one. Those entires will be deleted.
Hope spring is finally coming to your part of the world. It's raining here, snowing in the Sierras, but it's all good. My roses have buds!
All the best to you, and don't forget to take time to read a good book. I do hope you've given INTIMATE and REDEMPTION a chance. AWAKENED will tie up the series in June.
Be well and take care,
Kate
