Northwest 2008
I'm sorry I wasn't able to update along the way, but unlike our Midwest trip where we had Internet service
wherever we camped, we've hardly even had cell phone service, much less access to the Internet! I wasn't
able to get the pages loaded until we got home--but it's the first thing I did!

September 12, 2008
Doug and I left Friday morning and headed east out of Lake Co. for Mt. Shasta. It was terribly hazy from
forest fires burning north of us, in Oregon--something we didn't learn until two days later. All we knew was
that we were right on top of Mt. Shasta before we could even see it!

(For those of you who don't know--and people always ask--I took my name from my husband when I started writing romance--
there was already another author using my "real" name, so no...my husband's name is NOT Doug Douglas!)

Lake Shasta is way down--definitely a drought year.
Castle Crags--absolutely a gorgeous formation!
Our first view of Mt. Shasta and you can hardly see it!
From the town of Mt. Shasta--the air quality was awful!
Found a nice campsite at a KOA in Mt. Shasta.
I think I'm going to be really sick of that shirt by the time we get home!
