We were up really early--the full moon was still bright in the sky, but we decided to pack up
early and head for Virginia Lakes (too cold and dark there for this chickie!)
and then on to the old ghost town of Bodie.
If you want to see some really wonderful shots, mostly black and white,
What's really interesting is that, when mines failed and the town went broke, people just packed up and
left so much behind. One man held the notes to most of the properties, and it's due to him that the
town of Bodie survives today as such an amazing snapshot of an early mining town.
