Cobb House
We've been here almost four years, now, and moved in "full time" almost a year ago. The house is still very much "under construction." We've gotten to know a lot of our neighbors and really enjoy our walks around the "Fox Drive loop." We love it when it snows!
The property is wooded--half an acre with ponderosa pines and oaks and it's up at 3250 feet elevation, so it gets snow in the winter. It's just a few miles from Dede's old cabin.
This is still part of the property showing the woods to the west of the house. The road is right behind where Dad was when he took the picture. It's a corner lot. The window in the upper left is the master bedroom--there's a private deck off the back--and the window below to the right is in the stairwell leading to the lower room which we've turned into the TV room. Can't wait until we can use the woodstove this winter. The stairs you see are the outside entrance to that room. There used to be a carport off the front but a big pine came down and took it out a few years ago. I imagine we'll replace the carport at some point.
These two pictures will give you an idea of where we started. On the improvements page you can see where we've knocked out walls, but not much else. The kitchen is behind that partial wall (which we've already removed) and I'm standing in the bathroom that I redid...Doug took the pictures from the front door. The staircase to the right leads to the upstairs room we plan to divide into two offices. The hallway is to the left of the bathroom door and leads to three bedrooms and the staircase down to the den.
