January 2008
I haven't updated pictures in awhile and really should, as we've gotten so much done this past year.
New roof, new skylights, new garage and new paint job--the house really looks totally different.
We moved in here full time a year ago, after our "tree incident" at the house on Dry Creek Road,
and with Doug retired, it meant we were able to get a lot more done. House photos at the bottom
of this group of pics.

January 28, 2008--we had snow all last week, and then heavy rains Friday and Saturday--over five
inches, but we woke up to about two inches more snow this morning. More is expected to fall tonight
and tomorrow. I've had to reschedule a doctor's appointment three times now because we don't want
to chain up to drive to Santa Rosa!

So pretty first thing in the morning.
There are GOLDFISH in that pond!
It was bright and sunny part of the day.
Sunset tonight was gorgeous!

Newest pictures at the top--house construction happened in July 2007.
The snow started falling on January 21, 2008. I'm posting this on January 24 and it's STILL coming down!

So far, we've had four straight days of snow and highs of 38!
Thursday morning...MORE snow!
Thursday and it's STILL snowing...
Thursday, 1/24/08 and the icicles are getting longer!
View of the house from the back 1/23/08
Wednesday, 1/23/08 and we're starting to look like Tahoe!
We actually welcomed the snow plow...especially since
this one showed up in the daytime and not at three a.m.!
By Wednesday the icicles were growing!
This does NOT look like California!
Doug dragged me outside on Tuesday--I put some seed out for the birds.
Doug's managed a bike ride almost every day in this!

I'm surprised he could go up an icy road!
He did, however, wait until the snowplow had gone by...
Rufus loves the snow, but it STICKS!
His legs get so heavy he can't walk...
Another Tuesday morning shot...
Of course, we couldn't go anywhere...
this is in front of the house. We're on the right.
By Tuesday morning, we had LOTS of snow. It was gorgeous.
By evening on the 21st we had the beginnings of our own Winter Wonderland--I cancelled my Tuesday doctor appointment and Doug was worried about jury duty on Wednesday.
Snow started falling on Monday, January 21 while Doug was working on the new fence around my potting shed.
New paint, new garage, new roof! Looks totally different now!
For more shots of the construction process, Doug's got a website at SmugMug with terrific pictures.

The photo at the left shows the new wall in the kitchen. We just got that done in January--finally, no more bare studs! We'll go on to the next phase once we figure out exactly what we want to do and where everything will go. We do know there will be a tiled bar in the opening with two tall oak chairs in front of it, wood floors in the living room and FINALLY, a new stove with an oven that actually works.

New skylights make a huge difference!
