Beginning at the left for the Confederate Cavalry,  we have Captain Ahearn, who has lost his hat; followed closely by Trooper LaRue;
flanked on his left, your right, by Trooper Morris, all of whom are from Oregon and members of the 9th Virginia Cavalry. Directly on the left ofTrooper Morris, your right is Trooper Ergalano, to his left, your right is 1st Sergeant Bloch, both fine examples of Confederate horsemen, representing the 2nd South Carolina Cavalry, my unit, which was present and acted with honor and audacity during all the battles at Duncans Mills.

Respectfully submitted
